CPO® Certification Course

About the Certified Pool/Spa Operator® Certification Course

CPO® certification courses are designed to provide basic knowledge and skills to successfully operate any pool and spa. Many state and local health departments accept the CPO® certification program.

The CPO® certification program is a two day course (14-16 hours). It is taught by Sandy Good, a certified instructor.  You will cover several topics throughout the course including:swimming pool 4

  • Pool and spa chemistry
  • Testing, treatment
  • Filtration
  • Maintenance
  • Automatic feeding equipment
  • And government requirements

Following the CPO® certification program, class attendees must take and successfully pass a certification exam. The exam is open book and open note. Two hours are allowed at the conclusion of the course to take the exam. With successful completion of the exam, the CPO® certification is valid for five years.
